Volunteer Opportunities:

 January 28 AND FEBRUARY 11 AND 18   9-11 am

FEBRUARY IS RE-REGISTRATION MONTH!  EVERY CLIENT MUST BE RE-REGISTERED!!! PLEASE COME ON EITHER FEBRUARY 11 OR 18 BETWEEN 9 AND 11 AM AND BRING THE FOLLOWING:

Identification

  • Valid Government issued Photo ID for each person 18 years old and older
  • Proof that school age child resides in the household - school papers...  

Proof of Jackson Residency (one item for EACH adult living in the household)

  • Clients MUST be able to prove that they live in Jackson by showing one of the following items:
  • Current Rent Receipt or Lease/Mortgage Statement or 
  • Current Utility bill (Electric, Gas, Cable, Phone, etc.) with your Name and Address on it  or
  • Any mail from a Government Agency

Proof of Income: (all sources from all people in household)

  • Pay Stub, or letter from employer
  • Direct Bank Deposit or statement
  • Benefit Letter from Welfare, TANF/AFDC
  • Food Stamps (Award letter)
  • Child Support (letter)
  • Alimony
  • W2 Form from previous year
  • Pension/Worker's Comp/Disability letter
  • Unemployment papers
  • Social Security Award letter (whether permanent or temporary)
  • Other income

 Custody Papers: (Children under 18)

  • Copy of papers for foster children, also
  • Copy of Ward letter from WIC

The Jackson Food Pantry distributes food from The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) and privately donated food to low income and unemployed households to relieve food insecurity and emergency distress situations.  We maintain scheduled days and hours of distribution during the month: The fourth Thursday of each month from 5pm to 7pm for all clients and the Wednesday before from 5pm to 6:30 pm for seniors and disabled clients.  Our location is 10 Don Connor Boulevard, in Department of Public Works' building.  Our heartfelt appreciation goes to Jackson Township for allowing us to use this space.

 

                            Food Pantry Distribution

The Food Pantry is open for Food Distribution once a month on the 4th Thursday of the month for all clients.  The Wednesday before the 4th Thursday the Food Pantry distributes to Seniors/Disabled. (See Distribution Schedule).

On Distribution Day, clients are asked not to enter the Public Works parking lot until 4:00pm. Client's sign in will begin at 4:45pm, and Food Distribution will run from 5:00PM - 6:30PM for Senior/Disabled Clients on Wednesdays and 5:00PM - 7:00PM for Regular Thursday Distribution.
